In July 2006, General Sports hosted the sixth
annual Sports Executive Leadership Conference™ at The Broadmoor in
Colorado Springs. This invitation-only conference continues to earn its
reputation as the premier leadership and networking event for the sports
industry's most senior executives and team owners. This groundbreaking event
combines world-class keynote speakers on everything from business strategy to
economics and politics to personal growth issues, with many activities and
receptions that have been specifically designed to foster relationship-building
among the sports industry's elite and their spouses.
The theme of the 2006 conference was "Stand For Something", and it featured emcee Craig Sager from Turner Sports, as well as keynote speakers who are true thought-leaders in their fields, including: John Kasich, former Chairman of the House Budget Committee and host of Fox News Channel's The Heartland with John Kasich; Tim Sanders, best-selling author of The Likeability Factor and Love is the Killer App and former Chief Solutions Officer at Yahoo!; Dan Goodgame - Managing Editor, Fortune Small Business and Former Assistant Managing Editor at TIME; and Helen Thomas - Syndicated Columnist for Hearst Newspapers and former White House Correspondent. The conference also featured outstanding receptions and dinners, including the annual SELC Charity Auction to benefit the Suite Dreams Project and Special Olympics, and activities such as fly fishing, horseback riding and golf clinics. Everything took place in the breathtaking surroundings of The Broadmoor, a Five-Diamond resort that provides the perfect environment for the sports industry's elite to learn and build relationships.
The seventh annual Sports Executive Leadership Conference will be taking place at The Broadmoor on July 12-14, 2007.
"I have been wanting to touch base for you for a while to make sure that you know how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to participate in the past few SELC events. The speakers are always outstanding and it is very cool to see these folks in action after the session (Ernie Johnson, Robert Gates, Craig Sager, etc). I even had a chance to work with one of your speakers (Andy Razeghi) on an innovation project. The folks at the Atlanta Spirit allowed us to take a trip to "benchmark" their food and beverage operation last winter after we met at the SELC. I could go on and on, but you get the picture. These events are an awesome networking opportunity, the sessions have valuable and practical information and I know that everyone has a great time. I just want you to know that I really appreciate the time that you and your team at General Sports put in to make these events successful."
