TEAM ACQUISITION & MANAGEMENT

The past year was a transitional year for our Team Acquisition & Management division. The 2006 season was our final year of owning and operating the Fort Wayne Wizards baseball club, a Class "A" affiliate of the San Diego Padres. After eight successful seasons, we sold the Wizards franchise to an Atlanta-based ownership group. The team continues to be led by General Manager Mike Nutter, and we wish the new ownership group as much fun and success as we experienced with the franchise. The sale of the Wizards franchise was part of a strategic plan to move into ownership and operation of independent minor league baseball teams.

In addition, last year we began to work actively toward acquiring a major league team. We came very close to achieving this goal in our first serious effort last year, and while we did not secure the club we gained valuable experience for future endeavors.
